Atypical

Good morning.

It's an honor to be here.

Let me tell you a little about me and my company.

That's exactly how most meetings and presentations begin.

Boring.

Typical.

Clichés.

And, they don’t work.

The opening of your meeting or presentation isn't a placeholder.

Its purpose is threefold:

  1. Capture attention

  2. Set the tone

  3. Make a human connection

Typical takeoffs leave your audience right where you found them…distracted.

If you want to earn your listener’s attention right from the start, the first words out of your mouth have to be atypical.

Do you have the courage to step out of the crowded corner of conformity to get the results you’re after?
