Are you believing an illusion?

It’s comforting to believe we’re in control of the people and circumstances surrounding us.

That illusion prevents us from owning what we actually control….our own thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors.

Like most growth opportunities, the solution is part art part science.

The art begins with discovering and focusing on our purpose. Why are we here? Who are we meant to become?

The science is about applying tools and disciplines that ensure we’re living out that purpose.

Here are 3 steps to start the journey:

Recognize illusions: The longer we believe in controlling anything outside of ourselves, the longer we're distracted from the real opportunity of self-mastery.

Accept responsibility: Progress relies on our willingness to take 100% responsibility for our own thought, belief, and behavior patterns. What needs to improve in us? How are we preventing progress?

Modify actions: Growth is fueled by choice. Choosing empowering thoughts foster new beliefs which drive healthy behaviors. Outward improvement is the result of inward transformation.

Now that you know the steps, it’s time for application.

Look yourself in the eye and ask:

  • What old lies am I holding onto?

  • What new beliefs would I like to take hold of?

  • How will this exchange positively alter my reality?
