Rich Schlentz

I don’t view my clients as “lacking” or being in a position of “missing something.”

Rather, I view my clients in a place of strength. I passionately believe that everything they need to succeed already exists.

It is my job to assist them in discovering the strengths, talents and solutions they currently possess so they arrive at their ideal vision.

The foundation of creating and fostering an engaging culture can be found in my Nine Fundamental Principles of Engaging Leaders. Making these characteristics part of who you are is a life long endeavor.

In addition to the Nine Principles, we’ve developed a process to help our clients achieve their growth and results more effectively. Our process allows EXTRAordinary! Inc. to become immersed in our client’s organizational culture, create customized solutions, and develop long-term partnerships while remaining focused on measurable improvement.

Here’s a brief description:

Consulting A-3

For EXTRAordinary! Inc., working with our clients in a consultative role allows us to engage in an intimate journey. We integrate into your culture and work beside you towards a successful outcome. It is the mutual trust and commitment to each other that allow our work to be unusually effective. Our consulting process utlitizes a three-pronged approach: A-3, which stands for Assess, Act, and Account.

1. Assess

The famed American philosopher Yogi Berra said, “We’re lost, but we’re making good time!” So it is with a lot of individuals and organizations—working very hard and unsure of where they’re headed. The first step of any successful journey is to clearly define two specific coordinates: 1) Where you are and 2) where you want to end up. Your voyage with EXTRAordinary! Inc. will begin by assessing your current state and helping you crystallize your ideal future state. When appropriate, the use of various assessment tools will be employed. In most cases, we assess the old fashioned way; we ask skillful questions and listen intently. Our core belief is that our clients already possess the answers. Part of our mission is to help them uncover what they already know.

2. Act

Once a clearly defined current state and ideal future state is in hand, we are ready to act and build your journey MAP (Measurable, Attainable, Progress). Based on a specified time frame we will set measurable, attainable actions and goals. Achieving these goals in a opportune manner will ensure consistent movement towards your desired outcome.

3. Account

Follow-up is where plans fail. Perhaps it is the most important and most ignored step. At regular intervals we will conduct accountability reviews to safeguard your predetermined action goals. This step is vital to on-going success. EXTRAordinary! Inc. is committed to helping you stay on “track” with your MAP and arrive at your ideal destination. We work closely with our clients to determine the most effective method of accountability for your team and culture. After an effective accountability session, we reassess your MAP and determine your next appropriate action steps

Leadership Coaching

Coaching is an intensive one-on-one service that will allow you to gain clarity with your dreams and vision, recognize your natural strengths, and minimize “blocks” or distractions. Through holding you personally accountable for taking action, your coach will inspire and empower you to achieve the results you desire. Process includes:

Title: Creating an Engaging Work Culture: Fundamental Principles for Business Success in Turbulent Times...

Presentation Description: Why is the concept of employee engagement important?

  • Companies with engaged employees outperform others by 47% to 202% (Watson—Wyatt)

  • Offices with engaged employees are 43% more productive (Hay Group)

  • Engaged employees are 87% less likely to leave (Gallop)

Simply put, engagement is the ability to capture people's souls, hearts, and minds instilling an intrinsic passion for action and excellence.  It means creating a culture where employees are intellectually and emotionally tied to the company vision. Engaged team members are loyal, committed, creative, and innovative.  They are more productive than their disengaged counterparts and deliver high-level customer service while positively impacting the bottom line. This enlightening, energetic and interactive experience focuses on the fundamental principles that successful organizations apply in order to create and foster engaging cultures.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Recognize what it takes for organizations to succeed in both calm and turbulent times.
  • Understand and learn how to successfully apply the fundamental principles necessary for leaders to build committed and loyal work teams.
  • Identify what prevents leaders from creating and fostering engaging work cultures.
